From Hønefoss to Tornio – First Deliveries to Outokumpu

Arbion Industries has completed its first deliveries of biocarbon to Outokumpu in Tornio, Finland. The deliveries mark an important milestone in the established collaboration with Outokumpu, a key customer for Arbion, and in the company’s efforts to develop stable industrial supply. Outokumpu is a leading European producer of stainless steel and operator of the only chrome mine in EU with adjacent ferrochrome production, and with further stainless steel operations across several countries and customers worldwide.

Whilst Arbion is still completing the initial installation and commissioning of equipment at its Hønefoss facility, the Arbion team has managed to arrange first shipments from Hønefoss to Tornio. Arbion is now preparing the supply plan for the second half of 2026.

Together, the initial deliveries demonstrate Arbion’s progress in establishing a solution capable of delivering consistently, from production through logistics to customer delivery.

The deliveries are the result of close collaboration across the organization, from production and planning to coordination, documentation, logistics, and loading. Transportation has been coordinated by Arbion in cooperation with Kalotti.

Arbion is currently in a scale-up and industrialization phase, and the established collaboration with Outokumpu represents an important step in developing long-term, reliable deliveries of biocarbon to the metals industry.
